Fragments of posters with pop culture icons swing from the walls, an empty doghouse, a telephone receiver hanging from the antlers of a deer, a garden gnome; all these elements are the shreds of a discontinuous and paradoxical narration lost into space and contaminated by violence and the contradictions of history, which Lorenzo D’Anteo investigates in his works.
Naturamorta is the title chosen for the exhibition of his drawings: an apparently neutral word that D’Anteo actually explores in the oxymoron dimension of its etymology, in the enigmatic and surreal suspension, in the uncanny vitalism that lies behind anything that becomes residual. In this dark and angsty scenario lies the paradox: dream becomes nightmare, but from the dark zones of the nightmare emerge the traces of a (perhaps) still possible salvation.
The book reveals and explore all these aspects, through an immersive visual narration which leds the reader enter the complex world of the artist himself.
